e-Ako/Wearable Arts

A busy afternoon with year 6s working on this great maths site.  All students have a log in name so the site can be accessed at home and school.  Year 7s are continuing their creative wearable arts designs.  Not long until the sewing machines get cranked up!

Science!

Year 6's have spent the afternoon looking at all the things we can do in Science.  It's not all about experiments!
You can........predict, adapt, describe, combine, transfer, measure, dissect, discuss, observe.......how many other can you think of?!
The year 7's wearable arts are coming along, first cuts have been made in the fabric........the saying'measure twice, cut once' might be a good thing to remember!

What's Been Happening!

Year 6's have been looking at 'Food and Fitness'.  For our Science experiment (Is it Alive?!) we experimented with feeding yeast.  We had a control beaker (water/yeast) and a beaker with water/yeast/sugar....the result?  Wow, Mount Vesuvius!  Yes, yeast is alive!

Our 'Suitcase Reading' is underway (reading is a journey).  The Literacy Circle group are reading about 'Iqbal' the other groups reading about adrenaline and people who take risks.
